After attending a local evangelistic meeting and hearing the Gospel, Pastor Dale McCallister trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior as a seventeen year old. From the point forward, the Lord gave Pastor Dale a strong desire to study the Word of God, and to serve the Lord in any way possible. Several years later, after recognizing the compromise of the church that he and his family were attending, Pastor Dale and some others began to establish a local church that was faithful to the Word of God and to holy living. In October 1961, Maranatha Bible Church was founded and shortly thereafter, Pastor Dale was called to be the pastor and was ordained into the gospel ministry. For the next 55 years, Pastor Dale dedicated himself to following God’s will and faithfully preached, taught, visited, and ministered to many people. God used Pastor Dale to not only pastor the church, but under his ministry, Maranatha Missions, Zanesville Christian School, and Maranatha Bible Institute were all founded. He has traveled on several missions’ trips preaching and ministering the Word of God in Ecuador, India, and the Philippine Islands. Pastor Dale has served on many different boards, and was coordinator of a twelve-church Round Robin Missionary Conference in Southeastern Ohio and Northern West Virginia for over forty years. He also served for over twenty-five years as the President of the Buckeye Christian School Association and has been a speaker in several Bible Conferences across the country. In 2017, Pastor Dale stepped down as the Senior Pastor of Maranatha Bible Church and was conferred the title of Pastor Emeritus. He and his wife, Joy, remain faithful members of the church, always encouraging and ministering to the saints. He and Joy have two daughters, Amy and Becky, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
